I went to IKEA yesterday.
I haven't been in ages and i'd forgotten how incredibly easy it is to step inside and completely lose all sense of time. IKEA is like this black hole of awesome cheap furniture. if there was a 24-hour IKEA i think i would quit everything and go live there forever.
so anyway i was supposed to be looking for a desk. it's going in the middle of a room, not against the wall, so i just need a table i guess but then i saw all those desks with awesome fiddly little shelves and drawers and stuff and now i want one of those. so here's a selection of some of the desks i'm looking at:

mikael. $119
jonas with nifty little pullout bit. $199
fredrik. $159
robin. $129
jonas with shelf + drawer bit. $169
so i was leaning towards the jonas with shelf + drawer. but i'm not sure yet and i suppose i will HAVE to go back to IKEA again, later. where i can admire the other things that i now want to buy but have no real use (or money) for:

but i do have use for bookshelves. i've only recently started buying books, rather than just borrowing from the library but in that time i've bought so many that my one bookshelf can't handle the volume anymore. eventually, i will buy some bookshelves. so i may as well spend hours conducting research at IKEA. here are the candidates:
hensvik. $129
grevback. $139
expedit. $169
flarke. $49
i really like the hensvik but it looks like it'd only fit as much as the flarke, which is less than half the price. and the hensvik only comes in white, which i don't like and would also quickly show that i only clean the house once a year.
apart from furniture, i found that IKEA have also jumped upon the soulclap train.
they sell these super super spoka night lights, which totally look like the soulclap ghost:

so of course i had to get one. here he is glowing spookily:

is this a chance for all our readers to vote for the desk we think you should work at for the next few years? kinda like a...

...competition.
if it is, here is my .02: jonas with nifty little pullout bit.
and the hensvik for a bookcase. mostly because the word hens is in there. and I know how much you love chicken.
go team carnivore.
