let this be my saving of your life

How wrong is it to watch someone unknowingly drop something and not alert them to it?

Pretty wrong, right? I'd feel bad.

But what if they dropped a packet of cigarettes?
That's what happened this morning on my train. Man in beanie and pants too tight pulled his mp3 player out of his pocket and dropped his smokes. I watched it happen. Other people did too.

And I didn't tell him. Because smoking is dirty. And it's bad for you (AND EVERYONE AROUND YOU). It was done, or not done, in the hope that he'd never notice and give up for life. Or something. Something like not be able to afford another pack and thus quit for life. Or at least for the day.

Is that bad? Probably, but I still stand by my actions. Or lack thereof.

WWYD? You. Yoda. Yasmine Bleeth. Whoever.

ps. I'm mailing this one in so labelling will come later.
