people that i work with

you know you're working someplace special when someone's mug is taken, and instead of a hate-filled rant about stolen property being emailed around, you get this:

"This morning

I’m in mourning

For my old blue mug.

It’s actually a green-blue

Of a soft and gentle hue.

It hails from Kilkenny,
And one of not so many,
Indeed, for me,
It is the only one!

Since moving to this site
It has had a certain spot
In hole four comma four,
But it aint there any more.

So please let me know,
If, in the last day, or so
You have seen my Irish mug.
The reward?
(Or the contra)
Is a big warm hug.

By way of a PS:
If Mug found its end,
Through just a slight mis-hap,
It would relieve some stress,
And certainly not offend,
To simply - confess!"

clearly the rhyming couplets struck a chord with the thief because this was sent round a few days later:

"It has become my habit
Since Monday morn,
To scan the cup array;
And it was becoming quite a yawn.
But at lunch time today,
I could hardly believe it…
My mug had appeared –

A sight to be revered!

I don’t know who to thank
(Maybe it was just a prank)
But to avoid a recurrence
Of the same situation
I have adopted as defence,
Image propagation."

clearly this person's talents are being wasted in their current position.

and if anyone sees this mug:

for the love of god leave it alone
